"But,but, but, the Big12 was unstable." How was the worst amount of instability
- being tethered to fine schools like Baylor, K-State, Kansas, or Iowa St. - any worse than where we ended up...it's not like those schools wouldn't have found a home had the other 4 bolted to the PAC. And if we determined we didn't like the new home...we could have gone Indy anyway...ESPN needs decent West Coast product. And it's not like we had ANY leverage when we went indy, anyway.
Remember, this is WORST CASE scenario. The best case is that we had a spot. A cool kid. With the big boys. Had 1 for 1s on the schedule. Playoff Access. Leveled the recruiting playing field with Utah. And on and on.
We freaking blew it.
It was ours for the taking, and Alex Baldwin called it - we weren't man enough to take it.
The ultimate in instability was and is Independence. How we fooled ourselves into thinking otherwise is nuts.
Unless we just freaking win. Which we aren't.
So, here we are. The BYU Barnum and Baileys. Traveling the country.
There. Now I feel better. Sorry for the troll post.
