That is a classic, and shouldn't be touched.
The book is great, too. The difference between Jack in the book and Jack in the movie is huge, though.
As far as Doctor Sleep, I thought it was terrible, and I've still got it sitting on my nook with about 50 pages left to read. Can't bring myself to care enough to finish it.
