What do you mean "there's plenty of time?" If a plane isn't at the gate when
it's supposed to be, and loading is delayed, the long boarding process that prevails on a legacy carrier can make the delay longer. A quick boarding process shortens the delay.
I've even had SWA flights push away from the gate before the departure time because all ticketed passengers were on board and seated properly.
