I stated below that I thought it was okay as an apparel logo
particularly on curved, tightly enclosed surfaces, like the front of a baseball cap.

As a large logo on flat surfaces it struggle because it's letterform isn't great. It's fluid, not strong. It takes it's strength from its tightness within its background oval. Yes, it has its perks & its ingenuity, but ultimately it's too cutesy & fluid for me to work as a sports logo. I wish we had something more solid & stately. Something with a bit of mean in it would be okay--certainly better than a letterform with a smile at the bottom.
