That the "tail chasing" you're talking about is a necessity in college football, to a certain extent. The best coaches are able to change their philosophy based on their available personnel. And that was why Bronco went away from the 3-3-5 that he loved so much. We were much deeper at LB than we were in the secondary. And like you say, it's worked on the D, for the most part.
Bronco has a ways to go to become a top 10 coach, but he's a solid coach that gets beat up by fans unfairly, IMO.
