My wife saw an allergist and was told she is somewhat allergic to wheat.

When she eats normal food containing flour, then she complains of stomach problems. Gluten free usually means that there isn't stomach pains later after she eats. My son also sometimes experiences similar issues. I don't, but it is in my experience something that is very real to some people, but not for others.
