The best reason I've heard from people that like the Note 2 (or similar 5"+ phone) is that it comes down to how they use their phone. Basically, they find they use their phone much more for things that use the screen, such as apps, web, and texting, than they use it as a phone. As such, the benefit of having a small tablet, but still being easily portable, far outweigh the disadvantages of not being easy to use one handed or having to hold the small tablet to their ear on a phone call.
