Here is the deal with Gary Patterson. When he was an assistant fb coach at USU he was dating a coed who was lds. He ended up getting her pregnant and married her. At that point, she convinced him to join the church and he was baptized. They stayed married until he began his coaching career at TCU and shortly after his job began at TCU they were divorced. His church attendance was always luke warm and by the time he was in Texas was pretty much non-existent. I am not sure if he has had his name removed from church records or not. His ex-wife currently lives in Logan and they have two kids together living with her. They are members.
