I completely disagree
with you when you say that "there are no BYU sports to talk about." I just returned from the soccer game (an 0-3 loss, in case you didn't see it on BYUTV or KBYU), and I wouldn't mind talking about the soccer team with somebody. Unfortunately, I don't know enough about the finer points of soccer to really make intelligent conversation on the subject, and most of you (perhaps all of you) don't have any interest in the soccer team. Then again, nobody would expect that to be the case at this point. BYU men's soccer is so unknown to the BYU fan base because the team has been playing in the fall and in the shadow of the football and women's soccer teams. Add to that BYU's newness to the pro leagues, and it's no wonder that soccer is getting very little mention on this board. Within the next five years, though, I predict that the soccer team will generate a lot more buzz during the summer. It will take some time to get up to speed with the professional level of competition, but it will happen. When that happens, the team will start to dominate, and fans will come out of the woodwork.

As for your other points, I completely agree. In my post on the subject (buried a few pages back), I even go as far to call myself Crowton's "number one fan." I have faith that he will do even greater things for BYU than he did in 2001. All we need is a little patience.

Can you guess which one of these QB’s earns an NFL paycheck?

Cost of gas from SLC to Vegas: $32
Cost of a ticket to the 2001 UNLV game: $29
Watching Brandon Doman win the game on a 21-yard QB keeper with 1:21 left: priceless
