Entertainment I'd add to my comment above and say go to the Grand Ole Opry ( https://www.opry.com/full-calendar ). Doesn't matter who's playing, it's an experience. Bluebird Cafe is great but tix can be tough to come by.

Broadway is fine with a 9 year old until probably 7:30 at night before it gets a little dodgy.
