schools in such circumstances (issue well explained at the time here: https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2012/07/24/ncaa-sanctions-penn-state-departure-traditional-enforcement), I’m simply pointing out that that your statement that the NCAA only slapped PSU on the wrist for “lack of institutional control” is incorrect.

SMU should have never gotten the death penalty and the NCAA clearly understood that and would never do that again.
