Well thank goodness the Oxford dictionary says they’re professional. I’m not
arguing about them getting money. I’m saying they’re not professional because playing sports is not yet their profession. They’re full time college students and they have to go to class .

Did the NCAA dump all rules about how long they can practice? If you can tell me that this BYU team logs as many practice/training hours as the Los Angeles Lakers, then I’ll agree that they’re professional.

Making money doesn’t make you better. It’s when you have no other obligations in life so that you can train 60 hours a week for your sport that makes you better. That is what makes someone a professional athlete by my definition.
