He DID sometimes communicate with the quarterbacks. Sark tells a story of a
crucial point in the game when Chow, French and LaVell were discussing what to run during a time out. They couldn't agree. Sark says LaVell turned to him and said, "Sark, what do you want to run?" Sarkisian mentioned a play and LaVell turned to the others and said, "That's what we're running."
