I've actually been wondering the same thing
Now that we're in the same conference I've started perusing their 247 message board. I can't speak to anything before 2024 but I have noticed that their moderators are EXTREMELY crimson goggled about everything. I've also noticed there is a definite hive mind with the regular posters. There are a few outliers that are more realistic (or maybe even pessimistic) and they get labeled as zoobs right away.

For example one of their moderators mentioned a few weeks ago that their new QB; the one who has played for New Mexico, who is small, and has pedestrian passing stats; may go to the NFL if he has a good year this year. It took a couple weeks after that bold statement but now I've noticed multiple other "regulars" are hearing that the coaches are expecting him to be a one and done and going to the NFL after next season. Now multiple posters may personally know coaches or they may have all gotten their initial info from the same crimson goggled moderator.

I've seen that play out numerous times over the past year. The fans are fed extremely positive info from "insiders" and coaches and then shout down anything to the contrary. After this football season (and the Pepsi hype train commercials which hilariously described their season) I thought they would go into next season with a hefty dose of skepticism. Nope. They are fully on board the train and ready to run the conference again next year. They were only 1 player short last year after all.

Now that may be the case but nothing in their history to me suggests this sort of confidence.
