I am from out of state. Direct flights to and ignoring the lost time due to jet lag, it is cheaper to go to Utah.
Direct to Switzerland that I just looked at was $1000 and Utah was $300.

Lol, even if you pay $400 for a day pass, $100 for lift fees, $200 for rentals, it's still cheaper to ski in Utah

Those flights are not non-stop and add an extra day on both ends for Switzerland.

Sorry I meant non-stop. Fixed. I can't find any nonstop flights close to that. And then if you add legs and travel time.
