Maximus had clear goals & visions. And a much clearer enemy!

BUT that's not true to life! — argue the critics. And neither are lost kings of destiny who on their sheer skill & will rise to that top as professional fighters.

Yeah, good stories CAN incorporate the chaotic elements of life — but they can't declaratively argue that the chaos was what made the story good. Good stories make it as good, orderly STORIES. And Gladiator II was definitely NOT that.

It was a good mess, though. Worth watching once. With how chaotic & pointless the movie got at the end, they did have you wondering if the Equalizer were indeed gonna inflict a butt-whoppin one more time.
