I'm not a doctor. But....
When I had an hernia a few years ago they said "if any of these symptoms happen between now and the scheduled surgery, you need to go to the urgent care or ER immediately....."
You listed at least two ...(The shooting pains, especially the knees buckling)
Again. I'm not a doctor, but I think you need at least urgent care immediately....

I would go to ER, but some are against that because of the copay. But urgent cares are pretty useless for serious stuff
