Replacing the bearings is easy. The problem is that the shaft is probably warped
or bent. There’s no way to fix that except by buying a new drum.

I did that once. Fixed the problem but it never really worked the same afterwards. It wasn’t cheap, although it was a lot cheaper than a new machine, and I probably wouldn’t ever do it again. But the bearings are just rings that slip on. Getting them off is a pain, but you’re not trying to reuse them so destroying them doesn’t matter (I used a Dremel on the main one. I have since bought a bearing puller—P.S. don’t destroy the threads on the shaft in the process of getting it out). Bearings have an inside diameter, an outside diameter and a width. They’re easy to get and reasonably priced as they aren’t custom pieces.

I got about 3 more years out of the washing machine before I replaced it.
