It's not a business deal to be weighed in gains and losses, it's a Xmas prssent
It was a Christmas present for your kid. If he liked the pants and you can afford to buy him a new pair, just buy him a new pair.
You've already put way too much thought into this.

What fabric, and what were they stained with? Also, what have you done so far to get the stain out?

Put baking soda on the spots overnight, then rewash.

If you haven't run them through the dryer, switch to warm water, and rub Tide liquid directly onto the stain

I’d at least try a dry cleaner for $10 or whatever first. If you know what the stain is from they’re usually pretty good

I would think "Oh, right, that's why I don't buy $100 pants for teenage boys"

I'd try a dry cleaner considering the price of the pants.

I bet the dry cleaners can help. If you want to send a message, have your son pay for the dry cleaning bill. But...

Try oxy dish soap and don't put in dryer. Repeat if it doesn't remove the stain

I'd buy a new pair cause I'm a sucker, but I don't think that's the right answer universally.
