They institute small divisions (4 teams max) in conferences and set all intra conference schedules. Teams play a minimum of 7 conference games. Preseason games can highlight high ranked matchups, but schools and networks set those up. These can be used as tie breakers, but cannot be used in the first 3 tie breaker rules

The winner of each division plays in a conference tournament to win the conference (p5 conferences must have 16 teams and will have 2 rounds, g5 must have 8 teams and will have 1 round )

Conference winners of the 10 conferences make the playoff

Seeds 7-10 play round 1, seeds 1-6 await the winner of those 2 first round games.
