Yeah...the teams I've coached did a short team building activity before or after
every practice. No one wanted to do these huge events because of it. Simple games or karaoke was always something the girls asked for.

Here's the thing about club volleyball. Most of the girls hate eachother and feel "politically" slighted but are usually mature enough to keep it inside and just talk behind each other's backs....you know, like young kids do. However, the parents are the worst. They plan these types of events to either 1) guilt the coach into getting her kid more time or 2) to top what some other parent did. Parents are easily the worst part of club sports, unless we're talking about soccer. In that instance, the refs are the worst part. Parents are a close 2nd.

Coaching club can be so rewarding, but it's also the worst.
