A guy at my high school threatened to throw me in the school pool. He went on to
start at MLB at Nebraska under Tom Osbourne and was an All-american there. Later played for a bit in the NFL.
I'm not sure if that really answered your question, but he definitely did not throw me in the pool, so maybe I won?
