Power 4 doesn’t really exist. Shifting landscapes are pushing money and attention to the SEC / Big 10. ACC has some political clout and a couple of mega brands (Fl State, Clemson, and UNC) so they are a half step better off than the Big 12. But there is a concerted effort to downplay the Big 12 and the ACC and create a perceived perception of a gap that then becomes reality. This wasn’t the case even 2-3 years ago when the Big 12 had Texas and Oklahoma with a seat at the table. They could use their voice to get the other Big 12 teams ranked higher so that Texas could have quality losses and multiple shots at a playoff bid. It’s just no longer the case. While we are worlds better off than we would be as an independent or in the MWC, we’re still a have-not. It blows, but I think we can do more with our status than any other team in the Big12.
