I worked in the financial aid dept at a beauty school in Provo while in college
Overall wouldn't recommend it. As a for-profit school, in order to keep getting federal aid for students, we had to prove that after our students graduated they were able to obtain gainful employment. All that meant was that they were making more than minimum wage.

We would basically reach out to former students and see what kind of employment they were in and how much they made. While we did pass, it wasn't by much. I don't remember specifics since it was 10 years ago, but they weren't making much overall (obviously had some outliers).

Can't comment on the laser cert. But overall, beauty school seemed pretty predatory to those who didn't want to do traditional school. Others may have different experiences, but that was just my takeaway from working there for a year, especially with how much it is. Also, $25k for tuition for esthetician seems like a lot, would be worth shopping around. Check out Aveda in Provo - would be really surprised if it's gone up that much since the time I worked there.

Don't mean to be a negative Nelly on the whole thing, overall just didn't think of it very favorably from when I worked there. I'm sure lots of people have success, just doesn't seem to be the norm.
