The defense was in for the pooch punt, not special teams, is what I’m saying.
It is 100% on the defensive players that were on the field. Everyone in the stands near me knew a pooch punt was likely coming. Have to be on the lookout for it.
The fact that they were not prepared for it and had no idea it was a punt is even more damning because it seemed fairly obvious with the down and distance.
