This is a silly position to defend.
Sure - not going to the conference championship game (in the very least), missing the playoffs, etc., at this point would be disappointing. I can agree with that.

But anyone who thinks that a 9 win season - assuming BYU doesn't win another game - is "a bust" or that the season is "ruined" needs to just go start cheering for the SEC frontrunner every year starting today. Otherwise, they're going to be subject to a LOT of disappointment.

So far - the season has been magical. Get into the conference championship game and it's a really good season - win or lose. Win the conference championship game and it's a great season - win or lose in the playoffs.

Any playoff game win - even if the following game is lost - still makes for an awesome season.

And of course - winning the playoffs and it's magical.

But there is no way for BYU to "ruin" the season at this point. It's beyond being ruined. And beyond being a bust.
