I agree it’s not how it should work. I also think you’re ignoring the jumps teams will take for big wins. For example, if TN beats GA, they will likely jump above us.

I’m not sure how much higher we can move. I agree if we get high enough it’s tough to drop us out but we’re not there yet and other teams have jumps left to make.
