Really good points. But probably more effective to say you will shave, accept
the calling, and then grow back a well groomed beard to protest the silly tradition from a position of leadership. I see a lot of bishopric members with beards these days. You see it enough and the culture changes. So be why not be seen and accept the call?

Quite honestly, they haven’t really enforced it in years outside of the intramural officials. I was there 92 and then 96
