If there were an alternative rule it should take inspiration from rugby and the defending team gets its and has to punt it back to the O. Make them punt from the 5 or 10 yard line.


It is more fair to the D than giving it to them on the 1 or 5. And more fair to the O than giving it to the D at the 20/25.
