If your offense is going up-tempo all the time, drives can be extra effective when it catches the opposing defense on their heels, but it also gives your own defense less time to rest, and it's particularly detrimental when your offense has a 3-and-out. BYU's offense has a very deliberate, methodical pacing to it, which I don't find good or bad.
