Last year's Doak Walker award winner, all-american, and Big 12 offensive player of the year had a week to recover from injury and returned to his normal self (i.e. the mean). That combined with an experienced and smart coach with a bye week combined for a well executed game plan that was almost, but not quite, enough.
Gundy saw a weakness and exploited it with a supremely talented weapon. Perhaps it was a safety, perhaps a LB not covering the edge when a DL cuts inside. Who knows. But credit to them more than fault to us.
