Back in 1982, I really wanted to see the BYU-Utah game at the U. I was recently married. With only $11 in my wallet,...
I drove to the stadium by myself. I went to the ticket window and asked for their best available single ticket. I figured I'd have to pay about $6. But I lucked-out and got a Will-Call ticket someone had reserved and then cancelled. It was on about the 40-yard line, row 3, behind the BYU bench. It was exactly $11. BYU won in a surprisingly close game. McMahon was the QB. It was cold and I remember there was some snow in the stands and piled behind the end-zones. Utah fans around me threw some snowballs at the BYU players on the sidelines because they were standing on the benches, which made it hard for people on the first few rows to see the entire field over the players' heads. I remember being delighted that I had such a great ticket even though I had spent more money than I intended.
