- Kanon's mom loves BYU

- He's been surprised at how much the mission of BYU and what BYU provides an athlete has resonated with high-end recruits

- Doesn't see himself as a coach that is going to rip the refs. Tries to stay calm in order to stay analytical

- Goal is to know what he feels comfortable with and what the blind spots are before conference play. Efficiency is a huge thing for him. He's a facts guy, so loves the analytics. Goal is to do what actually works, not as easy as it sounds. Very difficult.

- Met Burgess at a coaching clinic here. Dick Hunsaker spoke highly of Burgess while he coached him at Utah. Dick encouraged him to reach out to Burgess. Craig Smith was sitting near KY at the B12 meetings and KY had just talked to Burgess about it. Was super weird and uncomfortable. Said he'll leave it at that. Thinks they see the game the same, extremely thorough and organized. "We moved pretty quick to get him hired...and stuck it to Utah at the same time"

- Justin (his brother) has been in the recruiting space for 20+ years. He helped KY behind the scenes and have gone back and forth on different iterations as to what could work here. He's solely focused on that, which opens up times for the coaches to focus on other things. Portal is a huge focus, trying to be very organized.

- Dave Rose has been incredible to KY.

- Someone asked about eligibility concerns: Says KY can't speak about anything. The compliance guys are in lock-step and know what they're doing.

- Said that he's sending clips of Marriott madness and the blue / white game to recruits (wasn't supposed to say anything more).
