Not sure how that shows how "un-BYU" Cal was. I read it as Cal fans near the stadium not being big football fans and wanted something softer and more "natural" like a duck call than a whistle... Though, at the same time, with the number of complainers around LES about speaker noise and video board shadows, maybe they aren't all that different from those near Cal.

In any case, didn't seem to highlight any differences relative to BYU, unless somehow the "enlightened" aspect they sought for using the duck call was somehow at odds with the culture at BYU?
