Losing to UMass in 2017 was not crazy at all. Their own play-by-play guy even predicted it. You do know BYU started that season 1-7 with losses to East Carolina and Utah State right?
That team was quite literally the worst in modern BYU Football history, and that loss to UMass was not at all crazy.
You are falling victim to what we refer to as “brand bias.” You think UMass sucks because they’re UMass, and OK State isn’t THAT bad.
But you’re forgetting that BYU sucked even worse than UMass that season. BYU could have legitimately lost to anyone in FBS that year, and also several top FCS teams.
