If I have to hear this completely irrelevant anecdote one more time…
That BYU team legitimately sucked.
The only way the current team could possibly match the level of suck of that 2017 team is if the entire team got injured in a freak flo rider accident, and we had to line up A-Rod at QB with Kalani at Fullback and Greg Wrubell at WR.
And that UMass 2017 team was actually one of their best teams in program history. The perfect storm that matched these two teams up at the perfect lightning strike of time.
Only for UMass to be completely wiped off the face off the earth in 2 quarters by BYU in 2019…and they’ve never recovered since.
