They won a couple Pac-12 championships. An accomplishment for sure.

But let's look under the hood.

2021 - they won the Pac 12, but BYU went 5-0 against the Pac 12 teams AND beat the Utes H2H. The Utes will claim that it was because Rising didn't start the year out. They do win 10 games and gave an undermanned (many players sitting out for NFL) Ohio State team a good run but came up short. The PAC was awful this season - they went 70-80, and that's before you vacate Arizona State's 7 wins. The Utes finish with 4 losses.

2022 - They go 7-2 in the PAC and back into the championship game due to tie breaker rules. Remember Washington beat Oregon, and Oregon beat the Utes. They all finished 7-2, but the Utes went to the championship game. They beat USC twice. Otherwise they had zero wins against ranked opponents. They finish with 4 losses again.

Never has so much hype been given to a team that did so little.
