I’m trying to understand how “I disagree with the decision 5 games into the season” can be interpreted as anything but

an issue with the timing.

I don’t have a problem firing him at the end of the year. I don’t have a problem firing him later on in the season.

But if you’re going to give him another season, it doesn’t make sense to change your mind five games into the season. In other words, I don’t think the timing makes sense.
