I’ve agreed with other reasons. I dont thing Rad Dawg’s first reason makes sense given the timing. In his post below, I
Agree with him.

But your reason doesn’t make any sense at all.

Your reason would make sense if:

1. 2-3 meant the season was over. In a 17 game season, it definitely isn’t, especially considering the Jets’ division.

2. Zach Wilson was playing somewhere else and doing well. He’s not even active, so that obviously isn’t the case (and I would argue it makes more sense to fire Hackett at that point rather than Saleh).

3. Zach Wilson was benched after a 2-3 record. If he had, I can see where your comparison would apply. But Zach got 12 games. So why would the Jets compare Zach’s 2-3 start to this year’s 2-3 start, when 2-3 was good enough to let Zach keep playing? That comparison makes zero sense.

But none of these things apply here. This decision doesn’t have anything to do with Zach Wilson, but for some reason you think that makes sense.

I could agree with Rad Dawg where they said, “he’s gone no matter what anyways, so let’s just do it now.” I agree with the logic, but I still think 5 games is too early to punt on the season when Rodgers is still healthy.
