I dunno. Machine learning is not something you learn in physics.
I mean it's true that many machine learning experts are physics PhDs who realized there are no physics jobs. But this just seems like a huge stretch. Like it just seems like an attempt to latch onto the current hype around AI at the expense of a lot of deserving people doing actual physics. If there were a Nobel for math or computer science, they should win.
