Over the years the Church and some of the members have become very wealthy...leaning into NIL is not going to corrupt
the core values of the university anymore than higher education and wealth is already doing.
Yes, fewer of the players will be active members of the church, but this dosen't necessarily mean that BYU has to give up its principles.
Just image the value of having future MBA superstars saying how the unique BYU culture had a positive impact on their families and their lives.

It's a larger purpose positive as these athletes have a good BYU experience and coaches continue to sign all the top BYU
