Whittingham starts his game planning at the line of scrimmage. If he thinks he can win with defense, running the ball and not turning it over, he won't risk further injury to a QB he may need later.

He doesn't mind Wilson getting reps because he sees Rising graduating and knows he'll need Utah to be ranked, expected to win next year, etc...to attract key recruits and win in the TP.
