I'm suggesting he would potentially go there to position himself better for a BYU HC gig. If he stays at BYU and succeeds, he'll never be BYU's HC. If he stays and fails, he will probably not be hired as HC either (slight chance he would be hired despite the team's failure)... So he goes to Utah temporarily.

He isn't getting the Utah HC job unless Scalley crashes and burns, which is highly unlikely if I'm being honest.
