I read the entire series and Hobbit twice, but never bothered with Silmarillion, so as long as it fits the main LOTR trilogy I'll be happy.

I was wondering, though, if Tom Bombadil was in the Silmarillion or if including him now is just a gratuitous nod to the fact Jackson cut him out?
