Depending on where you live, but you legally can't add a permitted child in Utah. You must add them if they are licensed
but if they only have a permit, you legally cannot add them.

My son was driving with me when he had his permit and someone hit us. It wasn't his fault. We never had a claim against us. After the dust settled, my provider sent me a cancellation notice. I called and reminded them of the law, they put me on hold, then came back and said, sorry and they kept me as a customer.
