Intervention Needed
I had to add the name of my 15 year old to my insurance....but was not charged.
In other words they wanted to know he had his learners and he was "driving" with one of us, but I was not charged to have him on the insurance.
Now, when he turned 16 and he got his official license I had to start paying.

Since you are in the car with them when they drive, kids with learner permits are covered by your policy.

But allstate says you don't. Seems to be dependent on the state and to some extent the insurer.

This is what Amica told me. Don't have to pay until they have a license

Depending on where you live, but you legally can't add a permitted child in Utah. You must add them if they are licensed
