His physicality also explains why he's such an effective blocker. No running back on any level is any good when getting hit on his first or second step, and that certainly includes LJ Martin and everyone else we have.

Luke Staley won the Doak Walker award, but he was truly worthless as a runner unless he was given room to accelerate into open space. But if you judged him by how well he ran between the tackles with no big holes, he looked terrible.
