The game has changed though. INTs are more damaging today than they were in the
1980s and 1990s because offenses overall have gotten so much more efficient.
For example, Steve’s passer rating was 140 in 1982 (6th in the country) which would rank 55th in the country for 2023 (even lower than DJ Uigaleilei’s 145).
I like Jake and see a lot of potential in him, but if he can’t get his efficiency metrics up, then he can’t be our starting QB.
