You don't watch enough football. The announcers comment on it literally EVERY
game. Every OC does this or is suspected of doing it in so-called "4 down territory." If it is a "nonsensical theory" it is nevertheless believed by literally every color and play by play guy in America.
AND ARod has himself TOLD us he's doing it. I don't know how much evidence you think you need, but every play by play and color guy in America plus the man himself is plenty for me.
