We had a QB competition that took all of spring practice and fall practice to sort out. It was a competition because either they were both so good that it was too close to call until right at the end (that’s what coaches have said it was) or neither were very good and coaches were hoping for a miracle and just trying to string it out as long as they could (the old saying, “when you have 2 QB’s you don’t have any).
We just got through the Bo Diddley Tech portion of our schedule with lots of things to be concerned about. The next few games will reveal a lot. Jake has had some nice moments and some really shaky ones. The ride gets rougher from here on out. All BYU fans want him to do well so we win. Nobody wants us to lose games so he can get benched. I just think the skeptics think there’s still a lot of unanswered questions about him as the QB1 (I’m a skeptic).
